Terms of business
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms explain how we work when we supply, fit or repair tyres for you. They're written in plain English. Please read them before you book. If anything isn't clear, just ask us.
1. About us
TyreHawk is a trading name of Tyre Emergency Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15362025). Registered office: 41 Sir Brian Way, Bilsthorpe, Newark, NG22 8GA.
Phone: 01909 251101 · Email: contact@tyrehawk.co.uk
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Tyre Emergency Ltd trading as TyreHawk. "You" means the person booking our services.
2. Quotes and prices
- We'll give you a price before we carry out any work. Your quote will say what it covers, such as the tyres, fitting and any extras.
- Quotes are valid for 7 days, because tyre prices and stock change often.
- Prices quoted to consumers include any VAT that applies.
- If we find something on the day that changes the price, such as a different tyre size from the one we were told or damage that means a repair isn't possible, we'll explain and agree a new price with you before doing any extra work. You don't have to go ahead.
3. Booking
- Our contract with you starts when we confirm your booking by phone, text, email or message.
- Same-day fitting is offered where available and depends on tyre stock and our schedule. It isn't guaranteed until we've confirmed it.
- Arrival times are our best estimate. Traffic and earlier jobs can cause delays. If we're running late, we'll let you know.
- If we have to cancel or rearrange your booking, we'll tell you as soon as we can and offer another time. If that doesn't suit you, we'll refund anything you've paid in advance.
4. What we need from you
To fit your tyres safely, please make sure:
- we can get to the vehicle, and it's somewhere we're allowed to work, such as your driveway, the road outside your home or your workplace car park (with the site's permission)
- the ground is reasonably flat and firm, with room to work around the wheel
- we have the keys and, if fitted, the locking wheel nut key
- the details you give us, such as your registration and tyre size, are correct
If we arrive and can't safely carry out the work because of something within your control (for example, no access to the vehicle, no locking wheel nut key or an unsafe location), we may charge a call-out fee to cover our visit. We'll always tell you the amount when you book.
Our technician may refuse to work, or stop working, if they believe it's unsafe to continue. If that happens, we'll talk you through your options.
5. Puncture repairs
- We only repair tyres where it's safe and legal to do so. Repairs follow British Standard BS AU 159.
- Damage to the sidewall or shoulder, holes that are too large, or a tyre that's been driven on while flat usually can't be repaired. If so, we'll give you a price for a replacement. You won't be charged for a repair we can't do.
6. After fitting
- We tighten wheel nuts to the manufacturer's recommended setting. As with any tyre fitting, we recommend having the wheel nuts re-checked after about 50 miles. We're happy to advise on this.
- If your vehicle has a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), the warning light may need resetting after fitting. We'll tell you if this is the case and how to do it.
- We'll dispose of your old tyres responsibly through a licensed waste carrier, unless you ask to keep them.
7. Payment
- Payment is due when the work is finished, unless we've agreed otherwise. We accept card and cash.
- If we ask for a deposit to order tyres in for you, we'll tell you the amount when you book. It will be taken off your final bill.
- Ownership of the tyres passes to you once you've paid in full.
8. Your right to cancel
Because we agree and carry out work at your home or workplace, you'll usually have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the day we confirm your booking, without giving a reason.
- If you ask us to start the work within those 14 days (for example, a same-day or next-day fitting), and you then cancel before we've finished, you'll pay for the work done and any tyres we've supplied up to the point you cancel.
- Once the work is fully completed at your request within the 14 days, you lose the right to cancel. When you book, we'll ask you to confirm that you understand this.
- Urgent repairs: if you ask us to come out urgently to fix or replace a damaged tyre, the right to cancel doesn't apply to that urgent work. It still applies to any extra goods or services we agree to supply on top of it.
To cancel, tell us clearly by phone, email or post using the details in section 1. You can use the model cancellation form at the bottom of this page, but you don't have to. If you cancel, we'll refund any money owed to you within 14 days, using the same payment method you used.
9. If something goes wrong
We're confident in our work. If you're not happy, contact us as soon as possible and we'll put things right.
If you're a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you legal rights. In summary:
- our work must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If it isn't, you can ask us to put it right, or have some money back if we can't.
- the tyres we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they're faulty, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund, depending on when the fault appears.
Nothing in these terms affects these rights. For detailed information, visit Citizens Advice at citizensadvice.org.uk or call 0808 223 1133. Tyre manufacturers' warranties, where offered, are in addition to these rights.
Normal wear and tear isn't a fault. Nor is damage caused after fitting, for example by potholes, kerbs, debris, driving on an under-inflated tyre or incorrect tyre pressures.
10. Our responsibility to you
- If we damage your vehicle or property while working, we'll make good the damage or pay a fair amount towards putting it right.
- We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable.
- We supply our services for domestic and private use. If you're a consumer, we're not responsible for any loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.
- We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breaching your legal rights as a consumer.
11. Business and fleet customers
If you're booking for a business, sections 8 and 9 (consumer cancellation and statutory rights) don't apply to you, but we'll still put right any faulty work. Our total liability to business customers for any one job is limited to the price paid for that job. This doesn't apply to liability for death, personal injury or fraud. We may agree separate account terms with regular fleet customers.
12. Complaints
If you have a complaint, please contact us by phone or at contact@tyrehawk.co.uk. We'll acknowledge it within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
13. Your information
We use your personal information as set out in our privacy policy.
14. General
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your job is the one on our website when you booked.
- If a court decides any part of these terms is invalid, the rest will still apply.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
